Social media has not only hurled the human race into hyper-connectivity, but has also provided a new medium for artists. With the omnipresence of social media in our everyday lives—not only through the computers that we sit at for hours per day, but at our fingertips via smartphone—contemporary life is in part governed by connectivity, self-publicity, brevity (a la Twitter), and the instantaneous efficiency of online publication. And of course, in order to capture this change in the human condition, art must adapt. Artists such as Man Bartlett are utilizing social media platforms to create expressions of the way we live now with such revolutionary technology.
