Thirty-five years ago this week, Voyager 2 was launched into space along with The Golden Record, a compilation of sounds from Earth encrypted into binary code. Originally conceived by Carl Sagan, this “mixtape of humanity” has by now exited the solar system into the far reaches of the galaxy, and is predicted to play for a billion years. Learn more about the Voyagers and Sagan’s inspiration here.
This lasting testament to humanity has also inspired others to find ways to leave our mark on the universe for billions of years to come. Perhaps LIVE will take you into space with another vision for humankind’s immortality…
