The Wallstreet Journal covers Work Wear at the NYPL! This is Vicki Steele, the Director of Collections Strategy, and the person who mainly curates the pre-show collection LIVE guests will see when they’re invited on stage (also one of the sharpest and kindest people at the library). Depending on the guest’s interests and work, Vicki will go through our special collections and hand-pick items such as Walt Whitman’s Blue Book or a lock of Mary Shelley’s hair. Also, a quote from the slideshow: “Employees involved in special events—such as the ‘Live from the NYPL‘ series—tend to dress formally.” So, why weren’t we in the slideshow?
